Over the past year i have developed valuable, analytical , technical and interpersonal skills. I’m a graduate of Human anatomy, with a post graduate diploma in Biomedical Engineering. During the course of my postgraduate studies last year, I came across the field of Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning. I started taking courses ranging from the “Introduction to Python programming language to the basics of Machine learning/Artificial Intelligence” and working on several projects to sharpen my skills. I’ve regularly participated in activities such as educational conferences, meet-ups, and volunteer roles; requiring leadership, teamwork and effective communication, fundamental and technical skills and qualities. My goal is to attain a career where I can use my specialized information technology and engineering skills combined with strong business background to help organizations such as hospitals achieve their technology and health goals.
As a biomedical engineer whose field encompasses biology, computer science, information engineering, mathematics and statistics to analyze and interpret biological data, which I wasn’t fully aware of the positive effect of technology but after my post-graduate studies in biomedical engineering, I have gained an insight of artificial intelligence in my course work and became more interested in the field of Ai. I strongly believe I would acquire more knowledge and develop more skills by attending this bootcamp. I am also engaging in some self-online learning courses on udemy and datacamp to keep up with cutting-edge of Ai specifically the part that has to do with my field which is biomechanics and bioinformatics which has a lot to do with data. Although I am very committed to undertaking professional trainings to fulfill my goals and my long term goal is to pursue research in the field of artificial intelligence and create innovative solutions and applications related to the field which is best to society.
In addition I have attended some voluntary classes on python and machine learning in which a mini project was presented by me and my other group members. We created a program in python which was a birthday reminder for staffs in a company and also develop a project which was a prediction of loan with a machine learning algorithm. That was the first time I first encountered artificial intelligence and then in my subsequent months of self-study I realized how relevant it would be in the future .The community that helped me achieve my learning goals include DSN — Data science Nigeria and AI6Lagos.I sincerely hope that Akademy.Ai will also be a community I would benefit from as an Ai enthusiast and a competent applicant opportuned to be accepted.
